A wallet isn’t something most people think about.

You buy one.

Carry it for years.

Replace it only when it starts falling apart.

That was exactly our mindset when we visited Ekster.

We weren’t looking for an upgrade.

We were simply curious about why so many people seemed excited about…a wallet.

It didn’t take long to understand.

One Click Changed Our First Impression

The first thing we noticed wasn’t the leather.

Or the colors.

It was what happened when the button was pressed.

Instead of digging through a stack of cards, they fanned out in a single motion.

Simple.

Fast.

Surprisingly satisfying.

It made our traditional wallet suddenly feel much older than we’d ever realized. Ekster’s signature wallets use a quick-access card ejection mechanism designed to make everyday access faster while keeping a slim profile.

We Started Looking At Everything We Carry

Once the wallet caught our attention, we stopped thinking about the wallet itself.

Instead, we started thinking about everything we carry every day.

Credit cards.

ID.

Cash.

Transit cards.

Business cards.

Keys.

How much of it do we actually use?

How much of it has simply stayed in our wallet because we never bothered taking it out?

Without realizing it, we were mentally decluttering our pockets before we’d even chosen a product.

It Felt More Like Everyday Carry Than Just A Wallet

The more we explored, the more it became clear that Ekster wasn’t simply selling wallets.

There were tracker cards.

Cash clips.

Coin pouches.

MagSafe-compatible options.

Cardholders.

Travel accessories.

Everything seemed designed around making everyday carry a little slimmer, quicker, and more organized. Ekster also offers optional tracker cards that integrate with Apple Find My® or Android-compatible systems, alongside modular accessories for customization.

Small Details Started Feeling Like Big Upgrades

What surprised us most wasn’t one dramatic feature.

It was dozens of small ones.

RFID protection.

Slimmer pockets.

Quicker card access.

Optional tracking.

Premium materials.

None of them completely changed what a wallet does.

Together, though, they made carrying one feel noticeably more modern. Ekster’s wallets combine RFID protection, recycled aluminum or premium leather construction, and optional tracking features while maintaining a compact design.

A Few Things We’d Consider Before Ordering

As much as we liked the experience, there are still a few things we’d think about before choosing a model.

  • Consider how many cards and how much cash you carry each day before deciding on a wallet style.
  • If losing your wallet is a concern, pairing it with a Finder Card is worth considering.
  • Compare leather and aluminum models based on whether you prefer a classic or more modern look.
  • If you use MagSafe accessories, it’s worth exploring the compatible wallet options available. Ekster offers multiple wallet styles, optional tracker cards, and MagSafe-compatible models depending on your everyday carry preferences.

Final Thoughts: We Didn’t Replace Our Wallet Right Away. We Just Couldn’t Stop Comparing It.

That was probably the biggest surprise.

We closed the website.

Picked up our own wallet.

And immediately noticed how thick it felt.

How long it took to find the right card.

How many things we were carrying that we never actually used.

Ekster didn’t convince us that wallets needed to be reinvented.

It simply showed us that a product most of us stop thinking about can still become noticeably better.

Sometimes the best upgrades aren’t the ones you were actively shopping for.

They’re the ones that quietly make you question what you’ve been carrying all along.
